Internet Explorer Address Bar fix
So, you've finally taken the plunge and installed IE7. Now, if Microsoft's IE development team are to be believed, you're quivering with excitement as you click on the icon for the first time. But as the window opens, something's wrong... horribly wrong. The first thing you notice is that clunky looking "reload" button, but the second thing is worse. It leads to the inevitable yelp... and the cry of "aaagggghhh!!! Why is the address bar THERE??".
What's more annoying, is that after half an hour of trying to click and drag it, or trawling through Options->Toolbar, you can't move the blasted thing into its rightful position!
While the reasons behind the seemingly pointless repositioning of Internet Explorer's address bar is destined to remain an utter mystery, the good news is you can fix it. Here's how:
First, copy and paste the text below into notepad.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]
" ITBar7Position"=dword:00000001
Now, save the file to your desktop as
toolbar.reg
Then simply double click on the file, click "yes" when prompted.
Restart Internet Explorer and voila! You're done!
